Modern Slavery Statement
Introduction
Customs Clearance Limited is a UK-based provider of freight forwarding, customs clearance and warehouse distribution services, and part of the Lenton Group.
Modern slavery is a serious crime and a violation of fundamental human rights, taking the form of slavery, servitude, forced or compulsory labour, and human trafficking. CCL is opposed to modern slavery in all its forms and is committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all of our business relationships.
Voluntary Basis for This Statement
CCL does not currently meet the turnover threshold that would make publishing a modern slavery statement a legal requirement under section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015. We are publishing this statement voluntarily, because we believe transparency about how we address modern slavery risk is good practice, regardless of whether it is legally required.
Our Organisation and Supply Chains
CCL operates in the customs clearance and logistics sector, working with freight, warehousing, and delivery partners in the UK and internationally. As part of the Lenton Group, we benefit from group-wide standards and oversight in addition to our own controls.
Our Policies
Our internal Modern Slavery & Human Trafficking Policy sets out our zero-tolerance approach and applies to everyone working for or on behalf of CCL, including employees, agency workers, contractors, and business partners.
We include specific contractual prohibitions against forced, compulsory, or trafficked labour with our suppliers and business partners, and we expect our suppliers to hold their own suppliers to the same standards.
Due Diligence and Raising Concerns
Anyone who believes or suspects that modern slavery is occurring within our business or supply chains is expected to raise it with their line manager or a company Director without delay.
Concerns can also be raised confidentially through the Lenton Group’s whistleblowing channel, Safecall, which is operated independently by an external provider.
Training
Training on modern slavery risk and this policy forms part of the induction process for individuals working for CCL, with updates provided as needed.
Approval
This statement was approved by Stuart Campey, CEO of Customs Clearance Limited, and will be reviewed annually.
